Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Terrorism and Media Research
This full-time position will involve the analysis of media produced by terrorist groups. The ideal candidate will have linguistic (Arabic) and subject-matter expertise as well as experience in content coding & analysis (preferably using NVivo). The project team is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of scholars; therefore, the ideal candidate would express a strong interest in working across traditional disciplinary boundaries.
In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to lead analyses that incorporate across text, visual and audio modalities, and to explore similarities and differences between groups through comparisons. The post-doctoral fellow will both lead and co-author publications based on existing data sets, as well as collection and analysis of emerging data. The post-doctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Lemieux, and join a wonderful group of colleagues in the Global Studies Institute at Georgia State University along with a multi-university research team. The position is supported through the Minerva Research Initiative of the U.S. Department of Defense, and is renewable for up to 3 years.
